Plays, Dance and Inventions!

To celebrate the end of our unit on China, the Navigators performed "Yeh-shen" (a Chinese Cinderella tale) and "The Crow and the Peacock" (a Chinese fable). The Navigators received rave reviews for their performances!

The Navigators have been learning a lot of cool dance moves from Giselle, our Artist-In-Residence this past week!

 Check out these creative Navigators!

The 2012 Navigator Invention Fair was held on Grandparents and Special Friends Day this week! We showed our guests how our inventions work, trademarks, patents, breadboards and the cost of production! We had homework machines, animal catchers, special drink machines, pet toys and lots of other neat inventions.

What have the Navigators been up to lately?

"Check out the new knot I just invented!" The Navigators have been busy creating inventions while learning about famous inventors like Albert Einstein, Marie Curie, Alexander Graham Bell, Thomas Edison, Ben Franklin and
Leonardo daVinci.

Lately, a lot of Navigators have been really enjoying the "Diary of a Wimpy Kid" series! We have also had fun reading "Clementine."

The Navigators have been practicing a few Chinese characters, including their names.

"I'm working on purple mountains for my Chinese landscape painting!"

Here she is --- Mrs. Gallon!
We have been measuring length, weight, capacity and volume with customary and metric units.

The Navigators are practicing two plays, "Yeh-Shen" and "The Crow and the Peacock," for Gathering on Friday, May 4th! See you there!

Ancient Egyptian Living History Museum!

To celebrate the end of our unit on Ancient Egypt, we became gods, goddesses, kings and queens from Ancient Egypt. We shared facts about our characters, stamped passports and helped visitors with crafts like making jewelry, scarabs or practicing hieroglyphics. It sure was fun!
